Apple releases iOS 17 at WWDC 2023; check out all the new features that will be arriving to your iPhone shortly.

Apple has released updated voicemail, videomail, and contact cards for missed Facetime conversations. A new function called posters is also included in the upgraded iOS.

The first day of Apple’s annual developers’ conference began on Monday late in the evening, and as expected, the iPhone manufacturer has made a number of announcements. The release of iOS 17 is one of the most eagerly awaited hardware and software debuts.

Apple has released updated voicemail, videomail, and contact cards for missed Facetime conversations. A new function called posters is also included in the upgraded iOS. When a call is received, this function fills the whole screen on the recipient’s iPhone with contact images and information. A new voicemail function called live transcription translates the caller’s message in real time and gives the user the choice of answering the call or letting it go to voicemail.

The ‘Check-In’ function is another new feature designed for those who check in on their friends and family while they walk or drive home. Your loved ones will be informed that you have arrived thanks to this sticker. If the intended route home is delayed, this app will also send a reminder.

Voice message transcriptions were also introduced by Apple, while Android users are already familiar with this capability from the Pixel 7 series. Sharing live locations, which are already accessible on WhatsApp, is another innovation that is not really new for Apple. The ability to add any emoji or picture cutout as a “sticker” is another update to the iMessage stickers.

In the latest iOS, Apple’s infamous autocorrect also receives an upgrade. The keyboard now uses a new language model and features a simpler shortcut that allows users to return to the original word they wrote if autocorrect misunderstands what they have written. (No more ducking or ducks?)

The business also introduced NameDrop, a feature that functions similarly to Airdrop but just for contacts. To exchange contact information, two iPhones can be touched. Given how similar it is to Android Bump, it gives the impression of déjà vu.

Apple unveiled the Journal app as a new app. It will automatically recommend events that a user would wish to remember and write about in a diary post. The software may set reminders to start writing and allows users to plan entries that might include photographs and events. End-to-end encryption is present for security.

Additionally, StandBy is a new option in Apple iOS 17. This mode, which makes the screen into a status display with the date and time, is specifically for charging. Additionally, it can display data from widgets, smart stacks, and Live Activities, and it can switch on automatically when the phone is charging in landscape mode.
