Yet the world often doubted our ability to build high-quality medical simulators,” says Ankur. “This belief became our inspiration. We wanted to prove that Indian innovation can not only match global standards but surpass them.”

The SIMTOM CT Simulator is designed to replicate the complete functionality of a traditional CT scanning system—without radiation risks. From patient positioning and protocol selection to image reconstruction and clinical evaluation, students can practice every stage of a scan in a fully simulated, interactive environment. This makes training safer, more sustainable, and highly cost-effective for institutions.

More importantly, SIMTOM aligns with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, showcasing how indigenous innovation can empower India’s healthcare education sector.

Struggles That Built Strength

The journey to building a radiation-free CT simulator was anything but smooth. The team had no easy access to international reference models and had to innovate from scratch. Technical challenges loomed large—how to replicate CT protocols without radiation, how to ensure realism in learning, and how to integrate disease-specific scenarios for students.

Funding constraints and limited access to high-fidelity materials and sensors in India pushed the team further. “Every prototype failure taught us something,” recalls Ankur. “We faced skepticism from educational institutions too. People asked: ‘How can a simulator replace a real CT machine?’ But persistence, patience, and proof won them over.”

Achievements and Milestones

Despite these challenges, One Simulation achieved a landmark success by deploying its first simulator at Centurion University, Bhubaneswar. This milestone was not just a commercial success but a validation of years of hard work and resilience.

Beyond CT, One Simulation has expanded into other critical areas. The company now offers ultrasound-guided biopsy simulators and fetal intervention simulators, further strengthening its portfolio of advanced training solutions. To ensure maximum impact, the team also conducts hands-on workshops for doctors, combining innovation with practical training.
