Seeya Fashion Week: From India to Global Fame
Seeya Fashion Week’s Vision — From Local Runways to Global Recognition
When Seeya Fashion Week (SFW) was launched, it wasn’t just about glamour — it was about giving wings to creative minds across India who needed visibility, mentorship, and direction. In just a few years, that vision evolved into something extraordinary. After its acclaimed October 2024 edition, Seeya Fashion Week made its mark globally as one of its star designers, Kiran Tuteja, represented India and SFW at New York Fashion Week, held on 14th September 2025 at 1604 Broadway, New York.
Founded by Seema Vashishth, Seeya Fashion Week was created with a clear and compassionate purpose — to promote and empower budding designers by providing them a professional platform to showcase their creativity. Seema’s vision was to bridge the gap between raw talent and global recognition. Under her leadership, SFW became more than a fashion event; it became a movement that nurtures design innovation, mentorship, and artistic collaboration.
Seema believed that India’s untapped design potential deserved international visibility, and her dream was to see young designers evolve from local showcases to global runways. The participation of Kiran Tuteja at NYFW 2025 stood as a proud testament to that dream becoming reality.
Kiran’s brand, Tarashe by Kiran, perfectly embodied the essence of Seeya Fashion Week’s philosophy — authentic storytelling through design. Her collection, inspired by Madhubani art, one of India’s oldest and most celebrated folk traditions, reimagined this heritage through a contemporary lens. Blending handcrafted Indian motifs with modern silhouettes, her designs celebrated the timeless connection between tradition and innovation.

Each garment told a story of femininity, strength, and transformation, echoing her powerful design statement:
“I am designing for the woman I wanted to be, the woman I used to be, and the woman I am still a part of.”
Her models, styled in intricately detailed yet effortlessly wearable ensembles, showcased how Indian design could harmonize emotion, elegance, and evolution. The vibrant collection resonated with audiences, not just as fashion, but as art in motion — a cultural dialogue between India’s heritage and the modern world.
For Seeya Fashion Week, this global milestone was more than a success story — it was the realization of a long-term vision. It demonstrated how Seema Vashishth’s mission to guide, promote, and celebrate emerging talent had created a lasting impact.
SFW’s journey from local runways to the world’s fashion capital served as a reminder that fashion knows no boundaries — it is elevated not by geography, but by vision, authenticity, and purpose.
